Ibanez Premium RG721

I was window shopping on mf.com and noticed they had a listing for an RG721 with no picture or description. Thinking it might be a new 7 or a misprint I googled the name and found this nice looking axe!

Pretty cool! I also noticed someone on sevenstring.org has one with nice pics.
Put some creme colored pickups in this and it would be sweeeeeeet!!!
If it is coming to the US it looks like it will be $700.

Re: Ibanez Premium RG721

Sweetwater had one in thier guitar gallery to the other night. Looks like its gone now but it was a great looking guitar.

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RG721R-CNF/

The link is to the instrument for thier website in general. Appears to be the same photo they had in thier guitar gallery though. I saw the 7 string forum guy's instrument too. The fretboard was interesting. I've leave it at that. Some thought it looked great. I thought otherwise but each to his or her own.

Interesting Sweetwater says "Limited".

Is this the elusive RG #4?

So much GAS for one of these... The guy on Sevenstring has some really great pictures (Better than the ones on sweetwater). Might have to buy one of these new!

Re: Ibanez Premium RG721

Rosewood seems to be getting to be such a PITA to buy / source that it looks like guitar companies are taking pics as is so that the customer doesn't get pissed later. That's my guess. I think its a fair move honestly. Yeah it might bug some aesthetically but I'm okay with it all things considered.
I'm really digging the guitar. The 921 in black is going for $800 I think and the blue or red quilt for $900. If this is really $700 then IMO Ibanez should make more of these. Drop a creme Tone Zone and Air Norton in and you're ready to ROCK!

Re: Ibanez Premium RG721

What kind of bridge is that?

I almost feel like it needs pickup rings but that could just be what I'm used to seeing. Let me look at it some more and I might change my mind.

Why is the brown one cheaper than the blue/red ones?

Can you elaborate? Is it because of variations in the rosewood or something and they all look different?

Good pieces of rosewood have been harder to get lately due to supply and the Lacey Act.

The RG721 is probably cheaper than the blue and red RG921 because it has lower-end pickups, not the Dimarzio/IBZ pickups that come on the 921. This has less finish work too I think than the 921's. The RG821 in black is probably the closest to this and is $800 but its painted.

Re: Ibanez Premium RG721

That's a very odd looking bridge. But the guitar looks awesome! If I see this someday selling here in Brazil, I might have to find a way to get it. Ticks all the boxes for what I'm currently looking for.
