this is my first post. Hope I'm in the right forum.
I got an Ibanez Prestige SRG2520 in 2008 off an Aussie guitarist who himself bought two of them in a Shimamura shop in Japan. Mine is one of the 75 white ones (there are 75 black ones out there also) and came in an extremely good condition for a 2003 guitar. It also is the 5th one to have been built in the whole 150 run.
I'm trying to collect all the information I can get on this guitar but it seems that, as it is a limited run for the Shimamura shops, not much can be said about them. Somebody even posted a translation of what I said on a French forum here I think, this confirming the lack of information on these axes.
One thing that was quite surprising with this guitar is that it was perfect in every aspect for a Prestige guitar but had Dimarzio/Ibz pickups that were thin and lacked punch. For this reason, I had the stock pickups changed for some made by French luthier, Kamel Chenaouy.
The bridge one is a Kamel Chenaouy NTM which is pretty much like a Dimebucker but with a tighter tone. It can be splitted twice to get only one of the 4 active bars used. The neck one is a Kamel Chenaouy Blues which is pretty much like the Seymour Duncan JB pickups.
Someone posted that these were low end guitars. I'm not really sure about that. It is said that they were made by the J-Custom Team but here also I'm not pretty sure.
Anybody has any more info on these guitars please?
