Ibanez Rg 1451 questions

I just got my second prestige model, the rg1451 (my 1st was rg1550m which i sold) and i've been digging it but i've come across a concern.

whenever I apply pressure on the neck i hear a "creaking" noise coming from the neck pocket. I decided to unscrew the neck and as the screws were turned it started "creaking" again, and then when I saw the neck and pocket i noticed some strange holes.

notice the 2 extra holes on the neck and the dimple on the pocket.

is this normal?

Also, has hardware changed on the prestige models? my 1451 came with smaller strap pegs and non-gotoh tuners. also it doesnt have the j-craft logo on the back of the head.

I'd appreciate any inputs about my ridiculously long-worded dilemma.

Not normal. Did you buy it from a major retailer with an exchange policy? If so i would return it for a new one or another model. When it comes to structural issues on new guitars I opt to not even deal with it if i dont have to......Can be major headaches.....

How long have you had it? If its within policy send it back. Once there let them tell you if they will accept....let thier process take over and get a new one in...

Re: Ibanez Rg 1451 questions

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Probably trypical pocket creak, which isn't typical on a fixed bridge unless the screws were not tight to begin with.

Rich, your response was scary fast! I tend to worry a bit more than some as not many retailers check what they have in before sending it out.....Dont want to see someone stuck with something they may not be happy with....

BTW Rich, not sure if you are a 3120 owner but we started a thread on it.....if so please join or send in some pics of previous ones you may have owned....

Sold plenty new, less used, but nothing I'd have any interest in "owning"

Rich, if you please, how are those extra holes "normal"? Not even close to "questioning you", Im just curious as all get out as to why those holes are there!
