Ibanez RG1527 Prestige 7-String Electric Guitar

I have a chance to trade my 76 Gibson SG, for a ibanez RG1527 Prestige 7-string, it also says J-Craft on the label on the back, along with a RG2020XTB.
Now my questions lay, the 7-string, worth 750.00 he is asking for it?
I think its about 200.00 more than I should give.

The RG2020XTB, is a 01, he values it at 400.00, I think its more along the lines of 250.00.

I would take 1250.00 for the SG, which puts us very close if his values are true, Way apart, if they are what I think.

Any advice on either guitar he is offering?

Both of his are in very nice shape!

Re: Ibanez RG1527 Prestige 7-String Electric Guitar

you can't compare 6 and 7-string (like potatoes and carrots)

a RG1527 is a great and classy guitar
(a friend of mine got one for about 500 bucks)
USD750 is for a second hand without a flaw guitar - try to have it for less
I don't know about your SG, it depends on what people are ready to pay for
and for what you are able to let it go

your own thinking !

if you really want that 6-string plus that 7-string, I think it's a good deal

I have over 30 guitars, all 6 string, I have toyed with the idea of a 7 string for a few years now.
As I thought, the guitar is worth about 500.00.

Thanks for the input.

Re: Ibanez RG1527 Prestige 7-String Electric Guitar

FWIW, I paid $750 for my '08 Rg1527 in excellent condition. I definitely got my money's worth with it too. If I were to find another one in just as good condition, I'd do it again!!!

I don't know much about the 2020x, but I do know it's far better than the $250 price tag your putting on it (If nice shape means "very good")

I personally would make the trade and see if he has a pedal or two to sweeten the deal.

Edit...If the 2020x is in good condition, it's worth $450 minimum. It has the double edge Lo-Pro in it for god sake!!!.........LOL
