Ibanez RG2570 vs RG1570 mod

Hey,
I'm looking to upgrade to a new guitar. I'm looking at used offers, just because I want more quality for the money. I've been playing for 3 years and I'm uprgading from a squire strat 3/4 size. It was 3/4 size becuase I'm still only 13 now so the Ibanez wizard necks probably wouldn't cramp my hands much. I enjoy playing all kinds of rock, metal but cleans are quite important too. I've found offers for an RG2570 for 420($670) or best offer and a 2002 RG1570 for $600. The 2570 was recently set up ( and barely used) while the 1570 has a few chips. The 1570 comes with a PAF pro at the neck, SH-3 in the middle, and EVO at the bridge. I can't decide between the two! I can't test these guitars out as I'm living in the UK and there aren't any good quality guitar shops near me. I'm playing through a line 6 spider iii and am going to be buying either a ehx metal muff or boss mt-2. I'm a huge rock fan, and like to listen to all kinds. To list some, I'd say the the classics like chilli peppers, eric clapton guns n roses, metallica, zepellin, oasis etc. but also the up and comers like avenged sevenfold, mcr, greenday, system of a down, i could go on for days haha.I am open to other suggestions.
I basically want to know what would be the best for my moey. I wouldn't be able to change the pickups on either for quite some time. I'm also interested in what finish you guys like more as I've not seen either in real life.
Any opinions/help appreciated
Thanks

Re: Ibanez RG2570 vs RG1570 mod

based on what you've said I'd go for the 2570. it's barely played and although you may not like the stock pickups, the evo on the 1570 might be a little crazy for you. maybe not, and I've never played one, but everything I've read seems to make me think it's a love/hate pickup, so you might end up wanting to change that anyway.

ultimately though, if you can't play them then there's a risk either way. I wouldn't buy a guitar unseen/played, and especially a used one, but that's just me. it might be better to save your money and wait for a better opportunity to come along.

I'd go with the 1570 myself. The only real difference between the two (when stock) is the pickups......which this 1570 already has. The only other differences are cosmetic.

Nah, they're the same.......they all get the same group of "finishers" over at Fuji, some guys are better than others but they each work on all of the models. That said...there are 15xx's with better fret/fretboard treatment than some 25xx's.

Yeah that's what i thought. The only thing driving me towards the 2570 was the set up. However, the pickups are better on the 1570 and in my eyes the 2570 looks a little bit tacky in the silver. Can someone tell me something about the sh-3.

Hello,
I was wondering, between 2 mirage blue 1570's, which pickup combination would be better.
Firstly, it's a drop sonic in the neck, still the s-1 in the middle, and the tone zone in the bridge.
Secondly, it's a PAF pro in the neck, sh-3 in the middle, and an evo in the bridge.
Pease let me know asap as the first offer is ending soon
Thanks

I don't know anything about the drop sonic, but the tone zone is terrific, imo. I have one in my 2550 and love it.
