Ibanez RG350 Sound

Hi!!

A couple of weeks ago i bought an Ibanez RG350 replacing an Epiphone les paul standard. On my epiphone my bridge pickup was very thin and compressed. I was hoping that my Ibanez would sound better in the bridge pickup but it didnt. My question is :
How am i going to make it sound good??

Thanks in Advance.

Re: Ibanez RG350 Sound

New pickups are probably the best option.

Re: Ibanez RG350 Sound

You need to buy an Epiphone Les Paul Standard.........

Just kidding. Pick ups are definately yor best bet. Try some Dimarzio PAF / PAF Pros.

Good luck.

What's the rest of your rig, your Amp and Effects?

But yes a new bridge pickup will probably help. Have a search throught the pickup forum to see what you think would suit you best.

Re: Ibanez RG350 Sound

My 2 fave bridge pickups are the DiMarzio Paf Pro and the DiMarzio Tone Zone.

given the fact that you're playing a small, solid state amp through a mid-level ibanez, upgrading to some killer pickups would certainly solve your issues. That little roland will sound great if you throw some quality pickups into the guitar. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but every ibanez I've got, and I've got a few, has upgraded pickups. Just not a fan of any ibanez pickup ever besides the ones dimarzio makes for them in the prestige's. With that said, I don't find that one particular brand is really any better than the others. I've gotten the kind of sounds I wanted from dimarzio, duncan, and EMG in a bunch of different RG's. Take a look at each of their websites, all three are good, and compare some different models. My personal favorite combos are

Neck: Dimarzio Air Norton
Bridge: Dimarzio Super Distortion

Neck: Seymour Duncan '59
Bridge: Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck (JB)

Neck: EMG60
Bridge: EMG81
