Exclamation Ibanez RG7CSD1

So Who can tell some words about that? the offer is - used, 1000 bucks, 2002. All original.

What + or - it has? any troubles during using it?

Thanks anyway!

Re: Ibanez RG7CSD1

Why not?) for me it is not a problem, i'll use only 2 volume knobs, one tone will be removed with EMG AB, and the other one..i don't know, let it be just a tone stuff. Or one knob, wich is near the tremolo will be removed totally, because i'm afraid that i will hit it all the time

Re: Ibanez RG7CSD1

I owned one. Great guitar with different type of basswood - it just sounds leagues ahead of the other basswood RG7s. The bridge EMG sounds insane but the neck one I couldnt get any usable tone that I liked out of it (why I dont like actives). Great for heavy riffage and you can get some 80s tones.

I see..what can you say about cleen sound? because 707 is a 85th model for 7 string..
anyway. Did you try those Seymour Duncun active Blackoputs for 7 string? i heard them, really nice sound.. i can't explain it) Wow, btw, did you try to wire 707th with the 18 volts supply? because i own a master built custom Les Paul with 18 vots 81 Emg in the neck posotion, well it sound pretty muc better, with passive harmonics..

Yep, As i've already said, i own a les paul guitar, with 4 knobs (now i decided ti change one knob for a toggle switch) so for me this Ibanez is quite familiar about those knobs

Re: Ibanez RG7CSD1

Looks beautiful to me.
IMO the knob layout with that 3-way switch matched very well on that ibby.

Yup I had them going at 18Vs - I didn't own the guitar long enough to try out blackouts. Plus I just love the tones from passives esepcially cleans.

How do you run them at 18v?

Just wire in another 9v battery hold in series with the existing one. If the guitar you bought is the one it should have the 18V mod already.

Seriously? I guess it's obvious lol. Doesn't it mess up the pre-amp with over voltage? Anything else electrical with too much voltage going through it would blow.

PS, the one you owned, did it have battery doors in the back? I never saw a rear photo lol

Re: Ibanez RG7CSD1

Since I'm the guy who sold you your en route RG7CSD-1, let me answer (btw, it's the same guitar that djpharaoh had--I bought it from the guy he sold it to). The two batteries are wired in series, which has the effect of providing more headroom on the internal preamp, giving you both a cleaner sound and more articulation on the upper end. It's the way to go with EMGs. Almost all of their bass pickup installations use 18v, since basses need a LOT of low-end headroom. I had a bass once with a 9v EMG installation, and it was almost unusable due to the low-end distortion. Adding another battery in series cleaned it right up.

Anyway, I kept the 18v setup on your guitar when I did the EMG-707TW installation. There's no separate battery box--it's just very very crowded in the control cavity.

Re: Ibanez RG7CSD1

you can actually run EMGs at 27v (not the accessory circuits which are rated at 18v) but as the website says, it really doesnt do much more than at 18v, from experience
