Ibanez RGA321F

Hey all

Sorry to bother you all with a new thread, but seeing as how jemsite doesnt get heaps of traffic i'm hoping its okay.

I've been looking for a guitar for my friend who ive gotten back into metal (he was really into jazz) and we've been looking around. We want a fixed bridge 6 stringer with rosewood/ebony fretboard and I found this while ebaying. I know a bit about the RGA321F but i'm damn well sure you all know something I dont.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEWAX:IT

We plan on playing a blend of jazz and metal. Will i need a pickup swap or will those do fine? We plan on playing in Drop C and C# Standard.

Thanks all!

Re: Ibanez RGA321F

it can definately handle the low tuning and a pickup swap would probably be suggested but not mandatory

its a great guitar! you really cant go wrong

Thanks for that IBZRG.

I have a spare set of Dimarzio Tone Zone and Air Norton, would that be recommended to put in there? Or would something like a set of Bareknuckle Painkillers be better?

Re: Ibanez RGA321F

for metal, i dont really know what the TZ/AN combo can do. great for jazz and rock stuff but not too sure about metal. maybe one step up with a super distortion in the bridge (is can do metal stuff as well as jazz) and maybe that AN in the neck (which is good, as it is a neck pickup and can do great solo's as well as metal/jazz)

Re: Ibanez RGA321F

I'd just like to throw in my 2 cents about the pickups. I love the sound of my Dimarzio X2N for metal. Throw on some Ernie Ball Heavy Bottoms for drop C and away you go. The D Activator-X also might be worth checking out. I also have an Evolution in the neck, sounds great for clean stuff especially when tapped.

That's kind of a crazy coincidence. Just don't tell me you also have a Black Ice circuit from StewMac in there too (which I highly recommend).
