Re: Ibanez RGR08 LTD.

I read they only imported 12 into Australia and since there are no replies I'm guessing it's pretty rare ?
Saw one on sale in Australia for nearly 1100 dollars, that's more then I thought they cost.
I'm going to take a look at one tonight that I can get pretty cheap so I hope it's a good one.

Maybe you guys don't like the metal look but I'm into metal so it works

In the meanwhile, any other comments on this guitar ? I think it has killer looks, plain basics, and the blackout intrigues me.

Spec here dude:

Nice looking guitar though tbh honest I would't be overly keen on those fretmarkers. Still, that's a minor detail. Love the colour and of course the reverse headstsock.

Re: Ibanez RGR08 LTD.

Thanks, I know the specs, but I was wondering if the build quality is any good. It seems to be made in Indonesia. Now, one can't expect any wonders given the price, but I'va always had a weakness for reverse headstocks indeed. I don't get it why they are so scarcely used by Ibanez. There are just no high end models, MIJ, that have them.

But if it has a good quality/price ratio, I might just get one.

oh, and the fret markers are a subtle change for once. Not overly done, I like them.

Re: Ibanez RGR08 LTD.

I agree, more reverse headstocks for higher end models. Some of the PGM models do have them though. On build quality well that's a subject of much conjecture. Japanese is best for sure. Some guys don't like Korean or Indo models but a lot of people will argue that the build quality has improved and still is improving.

Will you have the chance to play the guitar before you buy? It all boils down to want you want and what you like. If it feels and sounds good to you then that's it, the buck stops there. There are other Reverse Headstock models in that price category, maybe this one is the most aesthetically pleasing to you? You can always go down the upgrade path if you wish at some point as well, a bit of tweaking never hurt. It's a nice guitar, mean looking thing for sure.

Re: Ibanez RGR08 LTD.

I might have the chance to play one in the neighborhood, from a local seller, but I'm awaiting his response. Otherwise I might order one in a foreign story that still carry one, and then there will be no testing.

I sure like the aesthetics of this one, and prefer to get a fixed bridge in this price range because the floyd on similar priced are a weak spot, and I'm used to the Edge/Lo/Pro range on RG's I once had an RGR565 that sadly had some issues and sold it, but before that I was thinking of repainting it exactly like this one, and I've been looking around for a Blackout. That combined with a reverse for this price, if it's any good, I'm sold

Re: Ibanez RGR08 LTD.

It's better to try it out first as I'm sure you know dude. I'm with you on the EDGE III thing. Those are made from cheaper alloys and the knife edges don't hold up under whammy bar abuse. Best to get them blocked off. Try to get the seller to agree to a test on the guitar and take your own rig with you so you know the sound your gonna be getting.

Re: Ibanez RGR08 LTD.

I only tried it... ... ... ..unplugged
it was in a grand shopping centre in a little musical instrument section (most of it were squier and epiphone)
the neck's great, that's all I can say... oh, and the inlays look good.
