Ibanez swirled paint bodies on the 'bay

So, after much consideration, I've decided my self-painted 555 body won't match up to the quality of the ET custom neck I ordered. I was thinking I'd buy one of the swirled Ibanez bodies on E(vil) Bay but noticed that most of them are routed for the pups to be dropped in on top and wired from behind. Unfortunately, I have a 555 with a new custom pick guard fully loaded with Dimarzios. Has anyone bought one of those swirled bodies and did you have to seal/finish it? I wonder if they're available routed for the loaded pick guard?

I'd buy a new pickguard. They're cheap enough.

I've seen a couple front routed swirls on e-bay. You either have to wait for them, or special request them.

Most of those have no clearcoat, so you'll have to do it...

Yea and that's quite ridiculous that they don't clear coat 'em. Just think about what happens to the finish during shipping haha

I thought the majority of swirled bodies on e-bay were Pearle bodies(?)

No disrespect to my brothers in Deutschland, but I'm kinda turned off to dealing with folks overseas. The swirled guitars look great though. I think if I can get Perle to do a JEM body in a neon green and black swirl, with it routed for the drop in pick guard/electronics and an Edge Pro, and sealed, I'd have a pretty much complete and awesome JEM.

But you could give it a try... I think there will be no problem with the oversea shipping etc. and the costs are not much higher than in the US.

I'm pretty sure Perle has the plans for a front route with his CNC...and if he doesn't - I'm sure he would work it up to add to his collection of plans.

Re: Ibanez swirled paint bodies on the 'bay

Nate is doing a 540PII H-H body in a red/orange/yellow swirl along with a pyramid inlay neck also in red/orange/yellow inlays which from pictures look tremendous. I'm also going to get a 540PII S-H swirled body and a Fireman body swirled that can take a Edge because how awesome will that be? Very awesome. I hope to have everything this month, I'll put them together and post many pics for my fellow Jemsiters. I'll have pics of the Guitar Guru #4 swirl soon as well. Just waiting on a delivery of pickups. If you don't think "conventional" swirl, you'll think it came out really nice. Lava swirl!
