I didn't think Alder was that Grainy, my first guess woulda been swamp ash or something, also I don't understand the Neck, what is with the little wingading at the top of it?

The wood grain on the Black N4 looks very similar to the grain on my Matte White.. It's Ash.. Extremely light in weight.. You easily feel the grains.

ya I figured it was Ash, I am trying to think of a simple custom guitar to do and this might be it, I was thinking about going natural but this is better. I might have to ask Chris Woods if he can do that neck style though. I was going to get a JEM but a 24 fret N4 style guitar would be what I need

Re: From Ibanez to Washburn

I had to pull the trigger on a Padauk N4 today to go with my Matte White

I had to sell my JP6 to pull it off but THAT'S how much I think of the Washburn N4.. I had a choice of 3.. That's the one I selected because of the figuring in the grain...I'm stoked!! Hopefully it'll be here later this week..

I like Nuno but I'm not THAT huge of a fan.. My hat's off to him on this particular guitar design.. It is as close to perfect FOR ME as anything I've played in my 30+ yrs of making odd noises on a six string
