Idea for a new RG2550

Hello, I plan on purchasing a new RG2550 (2005 or 2006, doesnt matter to me), and I plan on having it custom painted. I've done a quick (and very bad) photo editing job of the stock picture to show what it would look like.

What do you think? I'd replace the pickguard to a white one and add red Dimarzio pickups.

But where does one get a custom job like this done? Is EKG a good place?

Thanks

Personally, I'd go with white pickups. You can get a pearloid white set on the bay including pickguard, jack cover, and trem cover for like $55.

On finishing, I don't know what ekg is, but go to a local auto or motorcycle body shop. They'll usually do an awesome job for a couple hundred or less.

EKG is one of the sponsors of Jemsite, and their link is up at the top right.

But as far as the pickups go, I like white as well, but I like red, as it is something personal that I like. (red, white, and blue are the colors of my school)

Also, I want to do something that makes me stand out, kind of like the JEM's with the wacky neon green and pink.

Well if you're trying to make your guitar stand out, then the color scheme would work but I'd go one step further and have some sort of design painted on the body of the guitar as well.

You could be really patriotic with this color scheme and put some silver stars or red stripes on the body. God Bless America! Either way, I like it simple like it is with the red white and blue.

I painted my custom that my Dad and I planned and built in a colour similar to that. It's Nissan Bayside Blue, colour code from memory was TV2. Here's what it looks like in terms of colour. Bear in mind that photo doesn't quite show the colour in all it's granduer

Wow Phantom, that looks great! Very similar to what I had in mind. How exactly did you paint it? Did you take it to a body shop or what?

The red pickups don't work for me, aesthetically. But then I've always thought red white and blue to be a poor match, whether in a flag of American, French, British, or whatever origin, or even a barber pole. Just doesn't work for me, they clash horribly, I've always thought so.

Yeah, well I understand that opinions will differ on the color scheme, but my main concern now is the paintjob. Where does one get a paintjob like that done?

As for the pickups I say go for Blue tint mirror with a red tint pickguard.
