Identification of 550 for trade/change?

Hi,

does anybody know what is the date this guitar was released and better if it is proper? Author says 1998, but that is crap, because those were made in 94 maximally. Seems possible because from the picture, it looks like the guitar has Lo Pro - fine tuners seems to be at the end of the bridge.

the easiest thing would be be to ask him for a serial number I guess. But I thought somebody would recognize the guitar directly here.

I always wanted rg550 for its more vintage look and maple neck over 570 I have now, and which I love. But it is nowhere to be found here. Most people just have 570 if 5xx. Not sure if it is worthy anyways considering the status of fretboard, but those black stains could be appreciated by some vintage fellos. Still I wonder why there are so many black stains, while other maple necks are cleans for so long.

Could this be worthy of buying or changing for my 570 RBDX? Thansk guys.

EDIT: waw I am stupid, forgot to insert the link: http://hudebnibazar.cz/inzerat.php?I...&ins=25&order=

Why couldn't it be a 98! Without pictures or a serial number what are we supposed to check?

Hi, I thought normal RG550 was made to 1994. I do not count re-editions, but I doubt those would have fingerboard worn like that.

I got mail from the guy and sn is F0237165. So it seems it is from Fujigen 2002, ?July? 165th That "7" is strange though or it was the 7165th guitar made? Really that much of instruments per month?

Looks like an 02 RG550 in Sangria finish to me.

From the Euro Catalog:
http://www.ibanez.co.jp/anniversary/...t_id=255&now=4
Upper right hand side.

The way I always thought SN# went was F(ujigen)02(year)37165(production number). Some people claim the month is in there, but I've seen nothing official about it.

Ah seems legit to me then. Still I am still surprised the fingerboard is that stained or smudged. Can this be indicator of bad maintenance?

Or just really acidic sweat and lots of playing? Dunno.

Do you think those black marks can be cleaned other way than sanding the wood? I also wonder what finish is used on those guitar. I remember I did not like my friend's Squier finish on fingerboard. Seems I am no finish type of person and having experience only with rosewood or ebony.

Now I have even doubts, if this would be good trade for my RG570EX RBF which has only minor signs of wearing...

Is Sangria the same color as the Japan-only Purple Metallic?

I saw a picture of a PM some weeks ago, and the picture of the SA in that catalog looks very similar.. Though I think the PM had matching headstock (can't say for sure)..
