Identification Custom

Hi,

This is my first post here, i'm 29 and live in Rotterdam (Netherlands) and a stratocaster player.

Yesterday i bought a old stratocaster. The brand is named "custom". The only thing i could find out is that these guitars were made by Ibanez before it was called Ibanez.

It's seems impossible to find more info about this guitar. Maybe one of you knows more about it and can tell me.

It's this guitar:

It has a 3way switch/puckupselector.

can anyone help me?

Re: Identification Custom

I have 2 Ibanez Strat copies... one is a Ibanez 2375 Strato and the other is an Ibanez challenger. In my travels, I've never seen any Hoshino guitars with the brand name labeled as 'Custom'. There were some other Japanese companies producing Strat copies during that time period (Pan and Hondo). The headstock doesn't look like the right shape to be an Ibanez. I could be wrong.

How's it play and sound?

as far as i know, Ibanez is called Ibanez since early 1900, much before the Strat (and Fender) came out. anyway, no idea what your guitar is.

Re: Identification Custom

Strange...... I have spoken with a few people about this guitar, and all of them say that it was probably built in an Ibanez factory somewhere in Japan between 1970 and 1980. Thats why i came to this site, bacause you know about Ibanez.

It sounds and plays exectly like a seventies fender stratocaster. If i was blind, i wouldn't know the difference, it's superb. And i only payed €150 for it. I'm very happy.
