Sure looks like a RG 450 DX.

If you want a "better" guitar with the sharkfin inlays and bound neck, check out the early 90's 7XX range.

hmm. I dunno. It kinda looks like some RG550DX. The scratchplate has been replaced obviously, but I cant tell with that pic 100%. Someone else on here could defenitely identify it. It looks nice though.

That thing looks awesome, it's not a 450 because it has an Edge...

But I cant tell if the rout for the trem has the angled shoulders (ie used to have a TRS, but has been upgraded)...

Anyway, I agree, that thing is beautiful! I'd rather have a chrome/mirror pickguard though.

Japanese-made 4XX models have Edges (as do Japanese-made 3XX models for that matter).

How can you tell from that pic that it has a AANJ neck?

The upper cutaway is rounded off in the AANJ versions as opposed to sharply walking further along the neck in the standard neck joint

Japanese RG4xx models had Edges for like 2 years, like 93 and 94 I believe. Since then they have moved to Korea, and back to Japan, and my Japanese 470 had a TRS on it. '02 model.

Japanese made 3xx models?! I didnt know such a creature existed.

Either way, if it's a pre AANJ model, it may well be a 4xx model...

And I couldn't tell earlier, and now the pic is gone, but if it's a Lo Pro Edge, then it's definitely a 5xx model.

But you may be right, but not all Japanese Ibanezes have Edges.

Ok. The picture is removed it seems... But thanks! Found some good pics on IR, and I see the difference now.

I wouldn't have thought so either except for the fact I've got a Jewel Blue one sitting on my bed right now that I got brand new in 1993. I actually thought it was a 470 until I took the neck off, and there it was staring back at me: RG370.

I've only ever heard of them being bought through the Custom Music chain in Australia so I'm not sure if they were a special order or what. A few people in my home town bought them. They retailed for $899 in 1993 Australian dollars. It has V6 series pickups and an old block-style neck joint (without even any kind of player-friendly carve as seen on 570s before the all-access neck joint was introduced). Maybe they were slapped together out of NOS parts or something. I have no idea. All I know is I've only ever seen them in Jewel Blue or black. If any Aussies remember Doug Mulray's short-lived TV series, the guitarist in the house band used a black one when he busted a string on his Telecaster.

That's really cool! I'm guessing it had an Edge? What kind of neck did it have (striped? Wizard I? Wizard II?)
