Can anyone identify this one?.

Its from a guitar I am looking at buying.

The guitar is a 2000 MIJ RG570

original Edge, lo pro or something else?.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Re: Identify this Edge trem for me ASAP

That is not a RG570
That is an Ibanez TRS trem
The guitar might be an RG470

MIJ RG 470 with a LO-TRS.

It's not an Edge, but its a decent bridge. Don't pay 570 money for one though. It should be a little less on account of it not being an Edge. The MIJ RG 470 is pretty similar otherwise.

Very interesting thanks guys. He has advertised it as a RG570. $300 AU dollars.

Here are the rest of the pics. I really value your opinion thanks.

Re: Identify this Edge trem for me ASAP

Being that you are in Australia, and that this is a left handed guitar, $300 is probably an alright buy. The bridge looks a little hammered though. I would want to test that it holds tune ok, and I'd bargain to pay a little less than $300, even if the bridge functions ok.

Thanks lone always a great help.

Tell me, would a Edge pro fit into that cavity as a direct replacement?.

I have one spare that is looking for a new home.

Re: Identify this Edge trem for me ASAP

It'll most probably fit, but the cavity will likely need some massaging to allow you to raise pitch with the bar. If you only dive for the most part it's no big deal, but if you really have the hankering to smash it up you'll want to take a bit of wood off.

The position of the sustain block in relation to the baseplate and knife edges is a bit different to the Edge (and I think the LO-TRS). You'll see if you get the guitar and place the Edge Pro in the cavity.

Re: Identify this Edge trem for me ASAP

If you have an Edge lying around you can drop in, that would be cool. But if you're gonna buy the RG470 and a replacement tremolo, why not just get a used RG570? I've owned both and I could tell the difference between the two. ^ ^

I'm willing to bet $1 that this thing originally had an Edge or Lo-Pro in it. Has anyone noticed that the treble side stud is different than the other one?

It wouldn't have, look at the back of the guitar. A 2000 model guitar with no cavity just for the recessed jack means it's a 4xx series, and they didn't come with Edge or Lo Pro then.

You can pay that $1 to my PayPal account!

No, not necessarily. Most of the necks then will have the same stamp, regardless of them being 4xx/5xx, etc.

correct and it's for lefties. I doubt Ibanez makes a lot of different necks for lefties

For example, RG7620 and RG7420 have the same neck stamped RG7620

Re: Identify this Edge trem for me ASAP

My suggestion is to skip that guitar, guitar itself are probably great but the tremolo are very bad. All the TRS versions are really bad stuff.
It works if you gone block it but not as a locking tremolo.

Not only that, but the neck is stamped as a Wiz-II. Definitely the correct neck for a MIJ 470.
