Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

I dont have photoshop, but here goes:

Basswood or Mahogany body(can't decide)
24fret Prestige type bolt on neck w/Ibanez Sharktooth inlay
Vbt body shape
HSH pickup selection
DiMarzio D Activators for the humbucker (or the Tone Zone. Either way), and a jem single coil in the middle.
Ibanez Takeuchi trs style tremolo.
Ebony fingerboard

Now see my only thing would be that I use 10-52 gauge strings sometimes and the bar (on my other guitars) bends down and I have to tighten the springs. But when u do that I can't hardly ever use the damn bar. So if there no solution I would have to go with a Gotoh Fixed, or Tun-o-matic bridge

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Here are a few made with V-RG

Does anyone know if the color swatches correspond to ibanez factory finishes? I'm wondering which one is phantom blue.

I want a 1550 in phantom blue with some blue dimarzios

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

mine would be an RGD2127 with a lo-pro 7 and checkmark headstock logo.
specs:

*Mahogany RGD body
*5pc. maple/wenge Original wizard 7 neck profile (unless the wizard 7 prestige is thinner)
*Ebony board w/ piranha tooth inlays http://www.elderly.com/new_instrumen...BLK_inlays.jpg
*26.5" scale
*White DiMarzio D-Activator 7's (Bridge and neck)
*Dark blue matte finish w/ matching headstock
*Black hardware (lo-pro 7, gotoh tuners)
*24 jumbo frets
*volume/tone (black metal domes)
*5 way blade selector (black tip)

i think thats it. oooooo i wish

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Honestly, since I'm a fan of weird designs, my signature would probably be a Xiphos. Here would be my dream specs:

-Mahogany body, with a translucent teal finish
-Neck-thru Wizard 5-piece maple neck with bubinga stripes, showing on the body, with an unpainted back and a maple fretboard with abalone oval inlays
-24 jumbo frets
-Crunch lab in the bridge position, bar facing the neck, and a Dimarzio Megadrive in the neck, bar facing the bridge, black/creme colored
-5-position switch (in position 1, the Megadrive is active in series mode, in position 5, the Crunch lab is active in series, in the positions 2 and 4, and outermost coil of each respective pickup is active, and in position 3, the innermost coils are both active
-a volume and tone knob, along with a killswitch
-Locking tuners with a wilkinson-style tremolo
-black hardware
-no truss-rod cover
-matching headstock

I think that just about does it

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Specs

- mahogany body
- Flame Koa or buckeye burl top (see through finish)
- 22 jumbo fret, birds eye maple, wizard-ish neck style, no fret board top, 2 purple heart strips, matched. Prefer 5 peice neck
- H-H pickups -> Air norton/ tone zone combo
- Coil tap
- 500k pots
- probably simple dot inlays, nothing crazy.
- matching flame koa or buckeye head stop veneer
- banana head stock, angled back
- high quality floating, double locking trem system
- recessed jack akin to jem
- no pick gaurd....
- 5 or 6 bolt neck.
- natural finish or "smoke", see through type of finish
- Cosmo or black hardware

yeah that would do nicely Back of the neck would definitely be unfinished! I hate painted or laquered necks...

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Well, basically a DN-500 with WB-PU's (67-07 NOS Wire Humbuckers)
5 Way Switch + Coil Splitting
Maybe arched top.
And it gotta be BLACK
