Some kind of piezo would be fantastic too.

Re: If you were sponsored..

I'd go with a set-thru RG with the following:

-mahogany body with a burl maple top, transparent green

-5 piece laminate wizard neck (maple and ebony, 2 very thin slices of ebony though), ebony fretboard bound in trans green maple (bound headstock too), and a very small pot leaf inlay on the 4th fret and 20th fret

-green tonezone's in the bridge and neck

-lo-pro edge

-readily equipped with a tremel-no and an ESP arming adjuster

-Sperzels for when I feel lazy and just want to lock the tremel-no and shred without having to **** with the trem and locking nut

-no tone pot

-gold hardware

-killswitch

-jem style input

-ebony cavity covers

-Reversed headstock
I think that about covers it, but my dream specs change from day to day lol

Re: If you were sponsored..

Meh, you're all too fancy. Mine would be a simple basswood RG, PGM-style neck, HSH config, in either plain black with cosmo hardware, plain white with gold hardware, or some sort of swirl (some of Richard Fay's ones look amazing!), not forgetting a decent floating trem. Nice slab of dark rosewood for the fretboard (no binding), DiMarzio pickups of some sort...I've only ever played anything with PAF Pros, but I'm thinking that a D-Sonic and maybe an Air Norton...actually, screw that, I'd get them to order me some custom ones.

Sound pretty standard? Yeah, it does. But what I've not mentioned so far is my crazy wiring plan...I won't bore you all with the details, but if/when I get around to making myself a custom guitar, it's going to have a pretty eccentric set of electronics.

:edit:

Add some piezos and a synth pickup in there as well, I forgot about them.

Re: If you were sponsored..

Iceman body with edge trem w/ lions claw or similar routing job. HSH pickups AANJ or thru neck construction. active/passive preamp volume and tone, push pull coil tap, either a nice FMT or swirl finish. I also wouldn't mind a fixed bridge version with a string thru body. The pickups would probably be custom and very versatile (hey i've got an endorsement with ibanez why not some custom Seymour duncans or Dimarzios to go with it?)

Re: If you were sponsored..

Custom S7420
24 fret
neck through
sculpted so the neck has no heel/joint under ANY of the frets
modified cutaway so the body/neck joint is after the 24th fret
green quilt top
ebony board
white board/body/headstock binding
H/H, 3 way switch, coil split push/pull on volume and tone pots
piezo double edge trem
jack on the back instead of the front

I think that covers it...

Re: If you were sponsored..

The only thing I would want is take the HRG4-BX and add a single middle pickup.

No inlays?

The rest without the maple binding would be excellent, though, with a Black Pearl finish, muhaha.

Re: If you were sponsored..

Few specifics:

Pickups:
Neck: Air Norton or Breed or something, I've not decided, but deffo Dimarzio
Bridge: D-Sonic (TCT doesn't have a D-sonic to choose from though).

Control knobs: standard black ones, I chose black fender ones for the pic cos the plain 'black' ones they have are navy blue.
5-way switch, standard Ibanez 5-way switching.

Add a piezo if it's possible to do a proper job (i.e. no wires sticking out everywhere) and won't deteriorate from sweat. Add an extra switch and volume pot if so too.

And of course, make sure it's prestige (possibly make the logo prestige)
