I've never had Customs open a guitar that was shipped to me. They usually just bill you based on the tax+duty rate (plus handing fees) on the declared value. Ikebe knows better than to fudge the value of an instrument when exporting it.
As for the return policy, I've never had to send a guitar back to them. BUT you'd end up paying 3 times the shipping as you would have had to pay the shipping from them to you the first time, the shipping from you to them and most likely from them to you again.
Honestly, if there's a problem with the guitar, It's not worth shipping the guitar back. If a part is f**ked up then get them to ship the part, if it's a scratch deal with it. 90% of the guitars sold by real Japanese guitar shops are displayed in their stores, vary rarely do you ever truly get one FRESH, UNOPENED in a box.
