Talking I'm really hitting the dimarzio jackpot lately.

Because of people putting generic titles like:

"80's Dimarzio pickup"

or

"Jackson DK-2 Dimarzio Pickup"

The 1st was a Paf Pro for $16 from the late 90's. The 2nd was a recent Tone zone for $16.50. I just did a BIN on a near mint fast track 1 for $25.

I also have been buying F-series IBZ USA pickups for cheap. around $20-25.

If you look closely, you can get killer deals on pickups. It's fun too.

Yup, that's the way to do it. It just requires a lot of browsing auctions. I got an IBZUSA humbucker for like $10 or something once.

They sound terrible. I will be glad to take them off yor hands for half of what you paid

I presume that they were on auction sires, rather than in shops.

Wow, I need to try that.

I got a $100 RG550 pawnshop geetar, and while its a great guitar, its very hard to consider dropping $160 of pickups into it, when I only paid $100 for it, you know?

Hmm, off to browse the 'bay I go...

What does it mean to you though? Value isn't just finacial. I have two extremely nice Ibanez's (RG 2550exVBBL, and a RG 7621BK) and i would absolutely LOVE to have a Desert Yellow Maple boarded RG 550. I say the guitar deserves dimarzios to the max!

True.

BUT!

I am also saving up for a Desert Yellow RG550.

And a Road Flare Red RG750

and a 1970's strat

and a JEM77FP
and a JEM777DY

and the list goes on and on. . .

so money is an issue. I completely agree, no guitar is complete without Dimarzios.

wow. Good deals. The trick is exactly how you do your searches. Many people don't know how to post their auctions, and put things in the wrong categories, so you really have to stay general, in the categorical sense, and be a bit vague, and really wade through plenty of auctions. You get too specific, it will filter out alot, and you just may pass right by something special.

Agreed. I will be glad to send and extra $5 on top of what you paid. $50 for the pair if they work! It's only for a project guitar, so I think I will live hehe
