i'm sad.. just shipped a loyal axe....but...

i hated to see it for the last time before i closed the case. i just sold my beloved S2020xav to purchase my 777VBK (will be here on Wed.).
she looked SOOOO sweet with fresh strings and all cleaned up! i air blew out the case and it even looked new (prestige deluxe). i will miss her very much and hope she will be loved as i had loved her. (i know this sounds corny- but i know you guys have been thru this before).
i am trying not to think about her and just look forward to the VBK.
i would like to replace her with a new double edge model, probably an RG series like i saw on Rich's site. i want a neck thru AND a double edge trem- am i going to have to buy one and install it in an RGT2020/3120? i can only imagine the cost and modification to do this and i don't know if you can even buy a double edge and all the stuff to install it?
GAS is a BITCH!!!

Not only would you have to buy an RGT but you'd have to buy a double edge guitar to raid it for the system, then do all the routing in the T, swap the systems, see how much you could recover from the old raided modified X bridge guitar, and then lick your wounds

i guess an RGT with piezo would be a pipe dream then.
oh well, i still like the idea of an RGT3120 and maybe go with GK piezo set up on a different Ibanez guitar factory installed- or maybe look into some of the other electric acoustic brands out there. any recomondations? (Parker, Godin, Brian Moore...)

Godin's are absolutely amazing too. Pretty much seems to be based on personal opinion:

Godin - more traditional, Les Paul-type thing.

Parker - Ultra-modern, lead-guitarist type thing.

Brian Moore - somewhere in between?

got a Parker Fly P-38 a week ago sunday in flawless condition. it is a very versatile guitar. i restrung it and used it the next night for an acoustic duo gig and plugged it into a Peavey Ecoustic 110 and an Ampeg JetII (15wtt tube w/ 12" spk). the blend between the two amps playing simultaneously was freakin incredible !! i have an Ibanez RG620X w/ the LR Baggs system (like new!) on the way as well. i should have that by weeks end. i'll update how it does!
i'll start a fresh thread under other Ibanez guitars for that report.

Sorry for your loss man I know how it feels to lose a great axe when it has attained sentimental value....

Good luck on your next guitar!

Yeah, the last time I closed the case on my 2027 before sticking it in the mail was a sad hour... I know the feeling, man. It's rough.

AAAARRGGHH>>>
i saw my old love on eBay this week already!! i am broke at the moment (5 guitar GAS attack in 5 weeks will do that to you!! ) and she will be finding another home. life is funny sometimes. i do like my new RG620xGK, but the S1220 was sooo much nicer and had tone for days with the seymor TB5 in the bridge. mahogany is one of the best tone woods in my hands.
