I'm sure this has been asked a trillion times, but...

Where is the best place to buy a J Custom? I know they're only sold in Japan or whatever (rolls eyes), but what are the best and most trustworthy sites to buy them from?

Any ideas?

I just picked up an RG8127F/BX from Ishibashi. They were very helpful and easy to deal with. It arrived ridiculously fast.

I think a lot of people buy from Ikebe also:

http://www.ikebe-gakki.com/

I just stumbled across this on ss.org:

Why must they tempt me so?

No. Consider it all part of your authentic importing-from-japan experience.

Ishibashi has worldwide sales reps that communicate via coherent English.

The best Japanese site in terms of photos anyway. Not seen some of those rare japan only 7's in such detail before. Yummeh!

Yeah, I'm having trouble navigating that site. Can anybody tell me what model that 7 is? That looks classy.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out once I found out where the search button was.
It's a HRG7 Custom (SOL). I like the darker VLF one too.

if you go with ishibashi. see if you can find a way to email Koichi. I'd assume he is still there. He was very helpful when i bought my 8527 a few years ago. I didn't even have to navigate through the site. Just told him what i wanted and he took care of the rest.

Re: I'm sure this has been asked a trillion times, but...

you can buy J-customs outside japan now, there are a few places in the uk that are starting to get them in now and again:

www.guitarguitar.co.uk
www.gak.co.uk

these two places seem to have them floating around every know and again

Anyone have experience buying a used stringbox from Ikebe? Or buying a guitar in general?
