Impossible guitar question of the day!

I used to own an electric guitar about 20 years ago. It looked like a Jackson with the pointy, angled headstock and it had a Kahler trem. There's no way it was a Jackson as I couldn't afford that when I was 17. Likely it would have been a budget brand.

I know this is an impossible question but does anyone have any memories of 20 years ago?? Oh this was in England so it maybe wasn't a models old in North America.

Re: Impossible guitar question of the day!

it's tricky....

old fernandes had pointy jackson style headstock, some of them had sharkfin inlays too..
I saw some old fernandes which copied jackson soloist/ dinky style.

Aria Pro II also got something similar.
but this one more to kramer instead of jackson.

another thing is ESP, but it's a long shot, if you think you couldn't afford a jackson at that time, same way with ESP.

Re: Impossible guitar question of the day!

You are a genius! I remember the name Aria Pro II now that you've mentioned it - that's exactly what it was.

Thanks!

It was probably the Mega Metal model:

Re: Impossible guitar question of the day!

I think most 80s guitars had pointy headstocks, S-Type bodies and double-locking jobbys. Own up, how many people took their 50s/60s Strats (now worth a fortune) and hacked them to bits with 'buckers, OFRs, neon paint jobs and sawed the headstock to a point?

Dangerous thing the pointy headstock; looks dead cool but you could have the vocalist's/bassist's eye out with overzealous stage antics :S

Re: Impossible guitar question of the day!

Aria Pro II is my very first electric guitar, It sucks so bad, made of plywood, sounds like crap, lousy pickups.... but i miss it so much..

mine was SL-STD 3... it looks like richie sambora white kramer, minus floyd and star inlay of course.

Re: Impossible guitar question of the day!

That guitar is kind of ugly, but I wouldn't mind owning one.

Re: Impossible guitar question of the day!

My Aria Pro II was my first electric guitar (non-bass) too. Strangely I've only owned two electrics in 25 years!
