hmmm true, i didn't spot that, was to busy looking at the inlay, and the fact that this is the first J custom in a while that has a special design....

for 4.5K it should have Dimarzios...

It's listing V7/V8 Customs. I wonder if Ibanez have tried the V7/8 magnet swap???

Come on Ibanez at least put some dimarzios in there.Interesting, but not my favorite J-Custom.For me this one is much more drool inducing.

Some interesting work in that. Not my favorite J Custom....obviously a very specific collector's piece.

Re: j-Custom JCRGD01 at Ikebe

Uh, the whole reason this guitar is expensive is because the master luthier at Ibanez hand-made it. I got to play on the JCRG0012 with the neck and body all in one piece and my god that thing was insane. It did have Duncan pups though so it was probably worth it more than this one. I like the design though.

The Good: Hey at least they have tried to do something different with this J Custom. Hopefully this will be a catalyst in producing more innovative designs for JC's.

The Bad and the Ugly: Seriously...what were they thinking?? That design is awful, just so uninspiring. Is that the best they could come up with. Not for me I'm afraid, I've a plethora of bog standard RG's that I wouldn't crawl over to get to this guitar (aesthetically speaking of course).

I really like the use of the stained & inlaid quilt. I just think this particular design is lame.

Awesome guitar otherwise............(but it needs a tone knob)
