J-Custom RG1708

Hey,

I might be getting a hold of one of these, but it's over 10 tears old and there are a couple of things I don't know:
1. Does anyone know the neck profile - compared so say a JEM 7VWH or 91 FP, or the Wizards?
2. It apparently has a DiMarzio SPF and I have no idea what that is!

I tried the search function but for some reason my browser wouldn't let me type so apologise if this may preciously have been covered...

Nick

Re: J-Custom RG1708

the neck is somewhat similar to ultra shape : 19.5mm at the 1st fret, 21.5mm at the 12th, 430mm radius.

I have no idea also what is dimarzio SFP.... could it be steve's special..?

Re: J-Custom RG1708

Thanks - I tiny bit thicker than a JEM then.

What would the profile be like? I'm assuming on a guitar like this it'd just be a nice, soft C.

Re: J-Custom RG1708

Result: DiMarzio SFP, (not SPF as the guy said) is 'Steve's Favourite Pickup' - a Steve's Special. Thanks :-)

Re: J-Custom RG1708

Juste a word to tell you how marvelous is the JCM prodile on these guitars.
Thick necks and fat Tone, a real pleasure

Re: J-Custom RG1708

You own a 1708? I'd love to know more, I'm really liking the look of the one I've found. Just waiting to be 100% before I pull the trigger on it.

Re: J-Custom RG1708

It's the one on ebay ?

Nice one !

I've got a 1880 from 1999, moreless the same guitar with a Tone Zone instead of the Steve Special, and flame maple neck binding. A great guitar

Re: J-Custom RG1708

Me too !

I think the price is fair too.
It would look better with a matching headstock, but the black hardware matches the headstock, so it's not that important
