'Jacket' for tremolo arms?

Hello,

I remembered, back in the mid 90's Ibanez used to sell some sort of 'jacket' for tremolo arms, made out of foam, if I remembered correctly. So that players can grip better to the tremolo arm and also protects the arm itself.

I can't remember what they are called, and searched Google for info or pictures with no success.

Anyone here knows what they are called? Or anyone knows any other manufacturer that makes these foam 'jackets' for tremolo arms?

Thanks.

Sure Grip, just like their knobs.

Yes, Rich!

I've been browsing the Parts section on your website, and I was kinda confused with the Sure Grip and those knobs.

Says in your website you've got only one in stock, is that right?

Balducci has been trying to get me to sell it for years, it's not for sale. It'll go on my next bar and hopefully get me thru the next decade!

I don't know if anyone remembers the little cushion things you can put on pencils and pens. They are like the soft grip and you can get them at a dollar store. They are a tad to big but some tap underneath and they fit perfect.

You get 10 in various colors for a buck.

Now that I know they could work I took them back off. Cause who really needs the cushion?

When I was a teenager, I remember putting the tubular jacket from one of those cheapo Bic pens on my bar. It was a long time ago, so I have no idea how I got it on there, or how I ever got it off. But, similar concept. Once it's on (assuming you don't mind a white whammy bar), you can scuff it a bit with some sandpaper to make it grippy-er.

I've got a NOS one that came with a dirt cheap RG I picked up a couple of years ago! I've got another one that I use that ace with my first RG back in the early 90s

I never understood why these stopped

I've never seen one of these jackets...... sounds cool.

Would some black shrink tube for wiring work the same??

It would work, but is pretty smooth. I don't think it would would provide any grip.

Guess I'll be the assclown here. Probably the reason you cant get them was because they were a stupid idea and didnt sell 10 units. I'm just sayin.
Dont mean to pee in your cornflakes, but c'mon. If you cant grab that trem bar, you might need to squeeze one of those stress balloons filled with sand to build up some strength in your hand.
It reminds me of fat chicks who wear thong panties.... not cool.

Chicks dig dudes with big bars.

There's a reason I have 2X grips on my golf clubs
