Re: Jackson Adrian Smith replica

ANYTHING from Somewhere In Time is worthy of a listen. I feel it is Adrian's best performance in terms of craft and music writing. Every one of his solos was well thought out and holds each song together. Wasted Years for me is an example of the perfect song. Honestly, each note on that album is perfect. Maybe that's why I own at least a dozen variations of the album.

BTW, my favorite one is the Japanese vinyl. So pure. Like an aural orgasm.

Re: Jackson Adrian Smith replica

The newer MIJ Charvels are really affordable over here at least, $899US new with a hardcase. A White SoCal would get you about 90% there IMO, just need a pickup/pickguard swap.

Cool build though, the finished product should be sweet. I built a sunburst strat loosely based on his "Death On The Road" guitar last year. Body is MIM Fender, neck from Musikraft. If I could do it all over, I would've bought another Charvel SoCal and modded it, because they're simply awesome guitars(I have a Plum USA one).

I know, I was reading your thread right now, very nice your guitar, tell me one thing, her arm with a radius of 16 is comfortable?
and the Charvel, the U.S. price is very good, but not here in Brazil ....
any tips on the construction of the guitar?
record a video playing with your guitar!
bye!

Re: Jackson Adrian Smith replica

The compound radius is definitely worth it, one of the few regrets I have about that build.

I've heard from a few people that the necks are very similar between the Charvels and the Jackson Smith model, but I've never played the Jackson. I went for a thin D shape on my Musikraft neck, which is close to a Wizard II neck shape. The Charvel neck is about the same thickness, but more C shaped.

They're all pretty comfy, the Charvel's C is awesome though.
