Re: Jackson Adrian Smith replica

That was just my old Laney GH50L with an overdrive boost in front, for the most part. There's a Digitech RP1000 supplying the effects. Chorus sound is pretty typical 80's; medium depth, slower rate, about 50% mix. Delay I usually do about 350ms with a couple repeats, and the reverb was probably a hall one for the lead tones. I think I'm using the humcanceling neck single coil at that point also. Been 8 months, hard to be 100% sure, and all my patches changed when I sold the Laney.

Really, a good middy "british" sounding amp, doesn't even need to be real high gain, with a TS9 or something similar in front will nail Maiden tones, IMO.

"Better" is really subject for neck shapes. I actually like the Wizard 1 the best of all, but sometimes you just want something different. I also learned to play on old RGs, so these stratty guitars have a unique feel to me.

Cool build though, the finished product should be sweet. I built a sunburst strat loosely based on his "Death On The Road" guitar last year. Body is MIM Fender, neck from Musikraft. If I could do it all over, I would've bought another Charvel SoCal and modded it, because they're simply awesome guitars(I have a Plum USA one).
any tips on the construction of the guitar?

Thought you were having a luthier built it for you? Just make sure the neck fits the pocket, and that the floyd studs are in the right spot, and eveything should fall into place.

I know, but I was asking more for the appearance of the guitars, finishing, etc.

Re: Jackson Adrian Smith replica

thanks for the pics yeah the body does look a little scratched but its should look fine when painted

edit: i just had an idea you know how adrian plays on an h-s-s guitar now ? what about making the tone knob a push pull to coil tap the neck pickup? it gives great options for your clean tones
