Jackson DK2M with crunch lab/liquifire

So I have this guitar which comes from factory with seymour duncan JB/Jazz, and I'm thinking of swapping the pickups for a set of dimarzio crunch lab/liquifire.

Any thoughts or insights?

I guess no one has done this before. I went ahead and ordered these pickups and I should get them this week. I'll post my results once I get them in there.

Re: Jackson DK2M with crunch lab/liquifire

Well, I received the new pickups yesterday. I was worried that the purple would not look good on this guitar. Turns out it's not that bad. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but it now makes this guitar my own instead of the stock look. Especially considering that a lot of people seem to have this guitar in the white finish.

As for the sound, both pickups are quite different than the Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck/ jazz combo that comes stock with this guitar. This may sound cliché or obvious but, the comparison is very much the way I would compare Dave Mustane's tone vs John Petrucci's. The JB/Jazz had a very raw sound, really hot and uncontrolled whereas the CL/LF combo has that singing quality to it. The pickups have a more compresses sound. Something that I found interesting too is that the pickups seem to attenuate the finger noise and unwanted sounds if just a little bit.

Edit: Apparently I need a post count of 10 to post pictures so... This thread needs a good bumping anyway!

Good choice with the facing of the bar. If you are looking for a little more of the other pickups you had installed though you should try to turn the CL.
I got the same Pickups, but the 7 strings version and with center coil split (3 way switch neck, center split, bridge), which kicks ass.
Did not know that they made em in purple though...wow.

I hate purple all the way, but hey...looks awesome in this white decor.
Personally I like the SD's better. Vintage and hot are my things. I don't like this whoosh that dimarzios have (and for now i'm stuck with some evo's in my rg2550)

Great job there dude.

EVO's hands down are better sounding pups, compaired to the JB/Jazz pups.
I have all the pups listed above.

EVO's are simply bad ass sounding pups.

JB/Jazz in my 06 Jackson DK2M Inferno Red, great sounding metel pup combo.
CL/Liq. fire, I had a set in a 08 RG1527, SUCKED! now it has a Blaze custom Bridge, Blaze neck, a thousand times better.
