Jackson and ESP Custom Shop info

Can anyone give me any info on their experiences with either of these custom shops? They both say they can do anything you can imagine, but do they mean that? Will they put an Ibanez bridge on if I ask nice enough?

Also, how much did your custom cost and what were it's specs?

Thanks!

That Armor Custum just looks like more of a FR guitar.

Re: Jackson and ESP Custom Shop info

Don't know if Jackson or ESP will put an Ibanez bridge on a custom guitar. They'd most likely offer to put in an OFR. Technically speaking the Ibanez trems are OEM'd for Ibanez only and aren't really available as a part you can really buy(ie. it's only supposed to be available as a replacement part).

Mind you, if you provide them the trem they might do it, otherwise odds are when you ask them to put in an Ibanez Edge Trem they'll interpret that as "you want a floyd rose" 'cause that's what an Edge is(or at least a deviation on a floyd)

Re: Jackson and ESP Custom Shop info

I think that's a Wilkinson trem on that ESP Armour thing.

I don't think Jackson or ESP would fit an Ibanez trem, even if you supplied them with one.
Maybe they might but as Budd says, they'd offer you the Floyd as their choice.
I've certainly never seen a Custom-Shop Jackson or ESP with an Ibanez trem on it.

Re: Jackson and ESP Custom Shop info

Jackson put Edge7s on their first few 7's, but I'm almost positive they won't do that now (especially since there wasn't a Floyd 7 then). But really, if you contact Matt from Matt's Music (top of the page) he'll let you know exactly what they will and won't do. My experience with the ESP custom shop ended when they closed up shop on 48th St in Manhattan. It was a while ago, so my memory of that place wouldn't be relevant to the current Japanese custom shop. The Jackson custom shop still has most of the same guys who were there 20 years ago, and they build an outstanding guitar, just right over the top quality wise. I'd definitely go Jackson myself, but that's just me.

The only thing that bothers me about it is, where the heck are the controls?!?!? Otherwise it kicks ass and would be the perfect guitar for a remake of Dio's Holy Diver video...
