Question Jackson pc1-phil collen

The Jackson pc1-phil collen looks like a **** hot guitar. Im really considering getting one, but with the price and all, maybe a prestige would be better. Im also considering a jackson sl1 soloist as well. Im really confused...

Re: Jackson pc1-phil collen

I've owned two PC1's, a Root Beer and Red Rum. I still kick myself for selling the Red Rum one, best non Ibanez guitar I've ever owned. They do have thicker necks, but still very shreddable. The Jackson sustainer is the best you can get, BTW.

Re: Jackson pc1-phil collen

It's difficult to argue against a USA Jackson. I like the PC1's, but prefer the Soloists. If you can get an early 90's Soloist Professional they are extremely similar to USA specs, and a bit cheaper. A late 80's Soloist should run you between 600 and 800, so they're affordable as well.

This is the only Jackson that caught my eye, and it looks especially nice in Chlorine. So the sustainer system is all that, eh? I was beginning to wonder what could justify the $900+ custom shop option for one of these.

I love the phil collens model from the 80's (hysteria era). They popup on **** from time to time.

Re: Jackson pc1-phil collen

I want one of those soooo badly. How much thicker are the necks than say a Jem Prestige neck? The price tag is a little steep on those bad-boys.

dude the soloist is the way to go, the sustainner, when it starts to die, kills ur tone, and u have to replace the battery alot. The sl1 kicks ass, and (imop) looks like 2x better!

Re: Jackson pc1-phil collen

Drop dead gorgeous..Wow. But it is a bit funny as the middle and the neck pickups are missing the pickup rings..
