Jackson RR7R?

There's one around an auction site, it's a neck through hard tail for 350 or so with case. Anyone familiar with them? I believe it's a Japanese Jackson.

Thanks,

jim

Not o so familiar with the Jap version,But the Korean version isn't bad,NOT great mind you,But not bad,Were talking around the same quality of the GRX7 or GIO7 whatever it is that Ibanez has as it's base model

I wonder which one is which? I haven't a clue how to tell the Japanese from the Korean, and I'm sure the owner doesn't either. If I can get it for 250US I guess I can't complain either way, though. It gets me a 7 and kills off my Jackson GAS fairly cheaply.

If it's the Korean version,I'll almost guarentee you'll want better pickups,That aside,The action does go low on them,As for the neck i'm just not overly keen on them,But if you like the jackson profile,i'm sure you'll like it,Love it? but most probably like it :-)

Let me know how ya get on tho

Well, if it's a neck-through, there's no way in hell it was made in Korea. I don't think Jackson even really made neck-throughs in Japan...at least not neck-through 7-strings. So you're looking at a Japanese Jackson at "worst", and a USA-made Jackson at best...in either case, it's a damn good deal.

I've heard a bunch of places blew them out at about 300 or so two years ago, and this guy says he paid about 560 altogether with the case 3 years ago new. I don't mind changing pickups, but a cheap "feel" is what worries me. I guess if I get it cheap and don't like it I can just move it on. Kind of like the shape though, it's completely not me

This is true,if it's neck through,it ain't Korean,i must have speed read past that bit

It's most Likely Jap,I guess,Jim if you buy it and don't get on,I'm sure you'll be able to sell it on,or trade for an Ibanez 7

Goodluck

Well, I sent the guy an email with my phone #, and told him to call me and we'd work out the price and shipping and whatnot. He calls me and tells me (I swear!) ,"I've got a guy in Indonesia who's going to give me 500 for it". I told him it was a scam, he could look right here on Jemsite for some horror stories and tipoffs, and he says ,"But he's gonna give me another 250 for shipping!". Me thinks the money will hypnotize him out of both his axe and the cash.
So...I hear good things about those Schecter C-7+ guitars

I have a RR7R - its definitely Japanese, but if memory serves me correctly its NOT a neck through. I've got a 1077XL and a RG7620 custom and use the Jackson as my main rehearsal guitar to save the other 7s dents and scratches. I think it's a great guitar!
I'm no expert on pickups ( Stock pickups on my 1077 and EMG 707s on my 7620), but to my ears the Jackson pickups are pretty good. Nice sound and very little noise.

Yeah, he ended up closing the auction early and shipping it off to Indonesia for "big bucks" . It looked cool in the one shot I got of it, though. It was a nice dark royal blue and had the reverse headstock. I'd like to find a nice 7 to play around the house that won't cost me more than say 350 or so, so I'll just continue to look at whatever bargains come up.

Just to totally kill this off I picked up a 7620 with a bag for $275. Maybe I'll BSB it ;-)
