hmm...if it's the thin one, then i played one at guitar center...the action was unbelievably low with no buzz...it was also a 1000 new...it was good but overpriced to me personally...d.m.

no, its not the thin one. lol, its the black (ive only seen it ever in black...) neck through soloist with the 3 a side headstock, and the emg afterburner installed with HZ pickups. its a very solid guitar for the money, and plays very fast indeed. Not for me personally, but not a bad guitar IMO.

I've had my SLSMG for about 1.5years now. It's an absolutely awesome guitar. I did swap out the pup's for an EMG 81/85 set though as the HZ's kinda suck The guitar is amazingly light weight and the finish is cool. Mine is the matte black finish and it's really resistant to fingerprints or anything of that sort (unlike Gibson's gothic finishes). Also, the finish gives one the feeling of playing on an unfinished neck.....very nice. I really wish Jackson would have put an ebony board on it though....that would have topped it off.

For comparrison I just (today actually) ordered a RGT3120TV......so I'll undoubtedly post a comparrison in the near future.

Re: Jackson SLSMG Soloist?

Jackson SLSMG is an excellent guitar. It's the only jackson I've played that actually feels like an Ibanez. The neck is similar to the wizard neck in my opinion. it also features an ebony fretboard that's compound radius (10'-16' from nut to 24th fret). It's neck-through construction with a mahogany body and neck. The SLSMG is has a contoured body and is very light. a little thicker than an Ibanez S though. The stock EMG HZ's are mediocre and not that bad. Theyre low output and very quiet. they have a decent sound and don't get that muddy. They don't sound very alive though. The jackson SLSMG is really cool to me coz it looks like a spaceship, hehe, futuristic.
