JCRG Gold 2 No.2 NO GO!!

Well I'd been watching a J Custom RG Gold 2 on evilbay recently. The guitar was on for $1200 'Buy it Now'. The item ended and didn't sell. I already have one of these J Customs and fancied getting another. There are very, very few of them on the planet. I contact the seller today.... I've got the cash!!! Boom!!! He hit's me with a price of $1700!! I say that I've been watching the guitar not sell for ages and I could meet what he was looking for it only 2 weeks ago. No joy. He won't budge on the price. As soon as I showed some interest in it he hiked the price up. Maybe it'll come up again but there was no dealing with him. I could still buy it at the inflated price but don't like to be held to ransom on it. What do you guys think? I'm thinking I should hold off but I don't want to end up regretting missing the thing altogether.

If you already have one, I'd tell him to pound sand if you think it's not worth it. But if you think it's WORTH $1,700, pay it and be happy with having two of such a rare guitar.

Better question may be why you didn't snag it for the $1200 when you had the chance.

Wrong, all wrong...

If it went "no sale" at $1200, then you offer $1000 (or any figure less than asking), and then he counters with the $1200.

Phuck him, and let him relist it.

Re: JCRG Gold 2 No.2 NO GO!!

Thanks guys. I didn't buy the guitar last month as I'd just bought a Caparison about 2 days before I seen it online. I've been aware that this guy has had it for ages. After his last auction ended I did some hunting about and discovered a link to the same auction that was up in August, same price on it and once again it didn't sell. He also has a Gold 1 which he's looking $2000 for. That's equally as rare as I'm sure some of you guys now.

Ayrton: Love the Phuck him line!! The seller is actually from Thailand so yeah Phuk-et!!! I'm in touch with a guy who is also interested so we'll see what he does now. I think I'll sit him out on this one. I'd say he's bound to relist it at some time.

It doesn't matter what it's worth to him. If the guy had it listed at $1200, he shouldn't hike the price up. No one should buy it under any circumstances, as that's just promoting his foul practices.

The market is crap for sellers right now, and if the guy does not want to sell it for current market prices, then he should hold onto it.

I am for selling things for as much as you get, but at the end of the day you have to have someone willing to buy.

Yeah I know man. What I couldn't get was that it didn't sell the last 2 times he had it on the bay at $1200. I offered him £800 (British) for it in todays exchange rate that works out at $1288 USD. He turned it down. Took him a while to get back to me, 24 hours or so. He could have been thinking about going for it.
