Jem body repair for 77vbk

So I literally just got this 2011 77vbk a week ago and as I was pulling it out of the case and I let the lid fall the clip hit the edge of the guitar. It hit right where the mother of pearl inlay is but I can't see any damage at all no matter how hard I look or even if I shine a flash light right on the spot. But in that little section it is now coarse feeling instead of smooth. Is there anything I can do to smooth it out now? Perhaps a very very fine piece of sand paper? I'm not sure what to do here.

Seriously OP? Bumping it after less than an hour? I don't think there's anything that you'd be able to do, and if you can't really see it why worry? Just go and play your guitar.

I get it, your upset and excited at the same time. I would be too. If you can't see the "rough spot" then you probably cant take a pic of it either. If you can, that would help. Also, ask a mod to move this thread to the Jem section. You'll get more exposure in there.

Leave it be. The steel strings will smooth it out over time, I promise lol.

Ah, he should still leave it alone then. Going to town on the body with no experience on a guitar that expensive is pretty bad idea imo. Those bindings are clear coated, even that over time, will smooth out.

True, and I would leave it as/is too. if you can't see the problem, you can't fix it. If you could see it, I would drop-fill and sand/polish.

Your guitar now has a unique fingerprint. You can tell it's yours even in the dark I have that same model Jem, and it has picked up a few minor scratches over the years, but that's life. Although we'd like to keep our guitars like the day we bought them, it's not worth keeping them locked in their cases.

Thats the sad part is I just got it and its a brand new one that has been sitting in its case for 2 years and I put it back in its case when I don't play it. As I was taking it out I didn't pull it away from the case and as it closed it hit the guitar on the pearl part on the bottom of the body. I just want to smooth out the scratch really because it feels really rough.

I'd hate to advise anything as if you can't see it you can't describe exactly what it is, bulging finish crack, shallow ding, scratch, all which would be better to hit with some CA and touch up right. But, if you just want to smooth something sharp, 2000 wet on the spot only, and a hand buff [on the spot only] will smooth whatever it is out.
