Jewel or Junk acoustic guitar ?

Doe anyone have any details on this guitar ?

Les Paul custom sounds good
Bird rings a bell ( Though not a very loud one with me )
Is it crap or worth fixing up ?

Re: Jewel or Junk acoustic guitar ?

looks like a piece of crap with a les paul truss rod cover.. I would say leave it as is..

No sense in trying to shine a turd.. Unless of course Bird is a good guitar, I never heard of it in my life.

How much?

(I love cheapo acoustics as long as the action is usable. . .you dont have to worry about them, take them anywhere where conditions are harsh and could harm your beloved Taylor or Martin)

Re: Jewel or Junk acoustic guitar ?

The important thing is how does it sound and play. That's what determines whether it's junk or not. I haven't heard of the brand "Bird", but in my 27 years of playing, I've occasionally come across strange/unheard of brands that turned out to be decent instruments.

Looks that way to me too. Some crack smoker put that truss rod cover on it to scam themselves or someone else.

Re: Jewel or Junk acoustic guitar ?

Good thing I never payed for it

Well, playing wise, it's ok. It's pretty much near fretless right now. I do like the sound however.

Work would include:
New tuners
New nut
Neck levelling
Refret
New bridge

And for that money, I might just as well get a brand new acoustic. I was just wondering what I had in hand.

Are you sure it isn't worth millions ?

LOL. It's clearly a joke. I mean, any fool knows it's not a Les Paul. I quite like the plate, it's funny on a guitar like that.

Just came across your thread - obvious clunker just by the neon coloured sunburst alone - if the guitar needs as much work as you say, and owes you nothing - it could be a nice project to hone your guitar repairing/maintenance skills on, and hey, it could go from being a nice sounding non player, to a nice sounding player that you did!

Cheers
