Re: John Suhr Guitars

Only ever had a close up on one awhile ago, Had no chance to play but the build quality was absolutely stunning, the finish was again superb, frets were diamond bright and no signs of any file ever being near them. If you have a chance to get one i'd say without a shadow of a doubt you would not regret it.

Rob

p.s. Probably not the most helpfull post

Re: John Suhr Guitars

I have played, let me think...7 i think. Six were strats and the other was a standard.
The strats are just awesome, my favorite 3 single coil strats, better than Fender custom shops IMO, specially because of the necks and fret sizes(masterbuilts are individual beasts).
The standard was a great built guitar, very similar to an Anderson Drop Top but with a thicker neck, but that particular guitar sounde too trebble. Maybe was because of the amp.
Anyway, great guitars, stunning strats and quality everywhere.

Just two more questions,
Does it worth the price they ask for (around 3000 Usd)
Urkoman, do you know where can I find one in Spain to play before decide?

Re: John Suhr Guitars

I've played lots of Pensa-Suhr's, and they were all outstanding. Suhr and Anderson guitars can be very similar, as both learned guitar making from Rudy Pensa back in the early days of Schecter. These are world class, top of the line instruments. I can't see you going wrong with one if you like the neck.

Re: John Suhr Guitars

Yeah top-draw guitars. If your talking about quality you really cannot go wrong with them to be honest. But for the $$$ you would expect it! I dont think I would buy one if I had the money, but they arent exactly to my tastes.

As for are they worth it? Probably yes. The quality/sound/build is amazing. But I would rather have several very very good guitars, than one amazing Suhr guitar. But thats just me. For Suhr money I would rather get a decent amp and a couple of decent guitars.

Re: John Suhr Guitars

Thanks, but I'm an "old" guy and not looking for "decent" ones..
In England you say something like "I've been there, done that, got the t-shirt"

Re: John Suhr Guitars

Tons of people swear by them these days (Scott Henderson, Guthrie Govan), and I heard tons of great things about them. Definately a great choice.

Re: John Suhr Guitars

I've tried a classic vith a SSH bridge humbucker and V60LP single coils (middle and neck). This guitar sounded beatiful! The build quality was extremely good and the finish was flawless. One of the best guitars I have played.

Re: John Suhr Guitars

I saw a few at the shop I bought my Jem from, I didn't play one but they look absolutely stunning.

If you can afford one go for it, and if you can't get your credit card out !!!!

Ever hear the old saying, "It's better to beg for forgiveness, than to ask for permission"?
