JPM Artwork and question / offer...

So I think I have just about got the vector art as close as I can get for the JPM models...

Now the question is, would anyone buy a replicated body? Or have theirs painted with this deisgn either in the original model colors, or their own custom? Could even do some crazy stuff with swirls, holoflash, gold leaf, kandy colors, etc.

Is this something anyone would actually spend $150 - $200 (maybe more) on a body alone for?

I think the stickers are a lot cheaper, look decent, and you aren't stuck with them if you decide to do something different in the future. For most people, that spells win

Re: JPM Artwork and question / offer...

Probably right...myself would prefer to have the graphic under a nice glossy sheen of about 9 coats of clear!

But that's what I wanted to hear...cause if people could care less - I'm not going to waste my time.

Maybe I will make one with something different than the norm that you can't get as stickers...

Thanks for the input!

I love that graphic, it's one of my favorite Ibanez for sure. But I personally would never want that graphic unless it really was a JPM model guitar. I would much rather have something else, which is not a "copy" of something else, if you know what I'm saying.

I hear ya...I may still go ahead and do one and throw it up on the web....I have agreat interest in doing one like one of CC's old guitars with the Nagel Print on it. I'm a huge fan of that too! Maybe I'll go the Nagel route first and see what happens.

Currently making an S series Lochness Green - we will see if people still want those bright colors! I was going to do a shocking pink, but didn't have enough for a guitar...next time.

I would agree with you on principle, if it weren't for the fact that Ibanez never made any production JPM7. So if you're a Petrucci fan, modding an RG7 into a JPM7 would make some sense, although I think the custom ones they did make for John were cow graphic 7s.

Cool idea. C.C. Deville had an even cooler guitar with the artwork of another famous artist. His name escapes me...guitar covered in squares with multicolored dancing stick figures on it.

As far as the JPM thing, what I think would be really cool to do with it is make it a stencil and take something like an RG3120, strip it and then re-stain it in the JPM90 colors.

I know the exact guitar you are talking about...I'll have to research who the artist was now...

As for the stencil, that's exactly what I have made it. So I could do the stain option, I could swirl a guitar, put the masks on, use a Kandy color to tint different areas, but still have the swirl as the base, I could holoflash the design, leaf it, bass boat flake it, traditional paint it....the list goes on. Since I have a vinyl cutter, I can do a lot with this.

Same thing for the nagel prints, or if I did the other CC guitar...vinyl cutters and vector art = good things!!!!
