JPM Petrucci P4 signed by the master himself

Hmm- I can buy JPM100 P4 in near mint condition - few small dings, nothing important with John Petrucci's autograph on trem springs cover. Price is 1600$
Do you think it is a good investment ?? Neck is the best Ibanez one I 've ever played. But basswood is not my choice. But for the investment, would you give 1600 ??

Signatures don't add anything to the value normally, unless the person is dead.

I don't know what prices are like in Poland, but $1600 (US $ I'm assuming) seems pretty high to me.

I would agree with Algiman, the signature isn't particularly going to add a lot of value to the guitar intrinsically. However, if you really want JP's autograph there's nowhere cooler to have it than on one of his signature models!

Basswood is ok as a wood and JP could have chosen alder or mahogany or ash instead if he thought basswood sounded so bad!

You really like the neck too...

Still you might be able to get an unsigned one for a lot cheaper!

Yes- it's pretty big sum, but it's for the autograph I thought...
I played a lot of JEMs, JS and any other brand out there and this neck
is one of the best out there. I prefer only PRS wide thin over that.

The neck is a reason to buy it - the autograph isn't, at least not to me, much as I admire his playing. Still seems too expensive though.

Re: JPM Petrucci P4 signed by the master himself

Hello, a Jpm P4 new in argentina was costing U$S 1800.
When I bought my JPM P3 back in 1997, i paid U$S 1400 (new) for it.
But the prices go higher over the years.

regards
