just bought myself a kh202

I just bought a kh202 for a beater guitar. It's on it's way, it should be here by tuesday . I felt like it was too risky taking my jem to parties and stuff, so i just picked this one up for $450, so i don't really care what happens to it.

My question: i'm only buying one emg81, and never using the other crappy hmz or whatever it is. Should i put the 81 in the bridge or neck? (It will be used for leads only). Also, are there any quick modifications or things i need to know about it, like is it really an original floyd trem, or a cheaper model?

Oops, just found out that it is floyd rose licensed. That sucks. o well, i will just have to take it easy. Will an original floyd fit? maybe the same studs will work.

Funnily enough I am looking for a decent KH model at the moment. I was looking at the KH2 and found you can get them for only $800 on evilbay.

But saying that....according to the ESP forums, the KH602 is apparently a wicked axe for the $$$. You could always try an MII as well. But I am looking at the moment!!

cool but 450 for a guitar you dont give acrap is alot. personally i think there great guitars and i think the setup and hardware makes a guitar not the price but nobody seems to agree.

Hard but not in playing Hard...

Jem's are very nice, a factory hot rodded guitar. RG's are just a better value. ESP is something I dont understand, quality seems to vary greatly from one guitar to another.

Never heard anything as random as that.

for a bring-it-to-parties-and-beat-it-to-hell guitar, I would have gone with something from musicyo. but I hope you'll be pleased with your new partner

btw, if you decide to keep it you could always buy a used OFR. it should fit just fine.
Also, I've heard good things about using the 81 in the neck and the 85 in the bridge position...

well, I got it today, and I am actually pretty impressed by the quality. The neck pocket doesn't have any more play than my jem, and the frets actually look like they had some detail work done on them-- no sharp edges, no high or low spots. It was set up pretty well too. The problems -- The trem blows, and the pickups are only good for rythym type stuff. I think it was a good deal at 450 though.
