Just got my 2027 - Momentary bliss

Well, I think I'm done buying guitars for a good long while. this 2027 should be amazing by the time I'm done tweaking it. Oh yes, and upon the much needed, should've-been-done-in-the-first-place KJG mod.

Couple things I noticed:

The Rosewood board looks almost bleached. has anyone else noticed this phenomenon? Also, the saddles appear to be made from two different metals (maybe it's just the finish). The string block part is black chrome. The intonation screw part looks like Die-cast metal (prays it's not die-cast metal).

I'm trying to forget the last thing I noticed. My volume knob promptly fell off upon my first twist. :lame:

No comments in the vein of "Play your CST!" needed from Rich. She's been my main guitar for a couple of weeks now.

Just got my 2027

Just got out of surgery. I performed the KJG mod on both my CST and my 2027. It's a great mod. Highly recommended over the stock wiring out of the box for Ibanez Double Edge guitars.

LOL...the volume knob thing happened to me as well. But the thing is that I got to turn it some before it fell off, and thus I have ring marks deep into the finish as a token since the screw was loose and the knob was rotating on the finish  .

the KJG mod is widely ragarded as being the best thing since sliced bread ! - well if you have a double edge guitar anyway.

You can find it here

wow i can't believe it beat kevin to post about a KJG question !

Congrats on the new guitar Ken! *I found it was a nice match to the CST. *Now that you've had the 2027 for a couple of weeks, what's your opinion?

You mentioned the CST has been your main guitar for the past couple of weeks. *Does this mean you're playing a little more often these days? *Any new music sprouting from your head and hands?

This seems to be common lately. My UV777PBK has an uncommonly light rosewood board. I have seen many in the stores that are even lighter. Wonder where they are going for their trees.

In contrast, my MC has a very dark board and is, consequently, 10 years older. It must be the latest stock of rosewood they bought or something.
