Re: Just got my American Master - Best Ibanez ever made

Didnt do a search, it was just near the top of the forum when I glanced at the forum.

And its really not just a plug for the ad; those things do just kick total ass. THe MA1 is strung 13-62 at standard pitch (EADGBE); the MA3 sort of "maxes out" in terms of what the truss rod can keep the neck flat at, at 12-56 std pitch, or it wouldnt be up for sale. I just like the really heavy strings, so the MA1 gets the majority of the playtime for that kind of guitar. The neck on the MA1 is a bit beefier which probably explains that, the MA3 is the thinnest neck I've ever encountered.

What ever happened to the page that used to be on this site about AMs? Last time I tried to find it I couldn't.

QFT. I had never heard of those until I read this and google it.

Why the heck did Ibanez stop making so many cool toys?

Because like the Maxxas and the 540PII and a lot of others, they just weren't appreciated at the time they were out.

+10000000

the RT, GR, and reissue blazers fall into this category as well. even the talman(kinda) and ATK were revived due to being very ahead of their time, but later appreciated.

I dont think we are allowed to post pics on this site are we? If we were, I'd post pics of my 2.

As far as reissues, I have a Japanese ATK, the one with the flame koa top, and I have to say, the reissues made in Indonesia just aren't the same thing. The quality is worlds apart.

You have more than enough posts to do so post away.

Re: Just got my American Master - Best Ibanez ever made

I don't think I've ever seen an American Master. Are they the same as the ones I've seen marked U.S.A. Custom? Or something like that? I'm confused.

And a spammer may have brought this particular thread to the top, but I still say that the way it usually happens is that someone does a search for a topic, reads the results, and doesn't notice that the thread is so old. The posts look exactly the same in color and format, and the date is small.

Peace

Mike

So you know it was your theory I was referring to?

Whatever you say!

MA1:

MA1:

MA3:

Difference between these and the regular "USA Customs" would be:
1) neck through construction
2) hand made by small luthier shops

That sunburst one is insane.

By the way, any chance you could post some bigger pictures? Those are a little small.

Just visiting again to look at that sunburst again. That lower cutaway goes all the way down to the bezel!!!
