Smile Just Introducing my new girls :)

Hey folks .
i recently recieved my new axe and wanted to share it with you ..
Its an RG2610zBK .. thats my first prestige model , or even ibby :P ...she was a gift from my father ..

http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/12327484753/

sorry for the bad pic ... took that in a rush with my phone :P .

so , i originally lean to leaving guitars as they are .. this one though
came with a SD tb-6 instead of the stock tb-10 .. really like it ..
but i play with the idea of adding some "personal" visiual tweaks ..

got any ideas to bring some colour into her ?
or even better some pics of the same model with slight mods ?

Re: Just Introducing my new girls :)

Congrats on your first Ibanez prestige! They are really great guitars... That is a very nice gift from your father! It is a very nice looking guitar so I personally wouldn't change anything. You could change the numbered knob to something a little fancier but there's no pickguard so I don't really know what else you could change without doing something major...I personally like how it looks as it is =)

Re: Just Introducing my new girls :)

Put a little green on there. Green knob pickup etc. Not too much just a tad bit t make it pop
But like DG said looks pretty hot as-is

Hmm maybe a zebra Dimarzio AT-1 (or a Seymour if they're out of Dimarzios haha)and a white knob to match the binding? Looks so good as is that's a tough one.

Re: Just Introducing my new girls :)

thanks for your replies ...

well , i had exatly the same thoughts .. so either i would gor for some dark(ish) neon green , i thought about a custom trussrodcover with a green
painted engravement .. but pretty diffucult to find "this" trussrod-cover shape ..
i would like to leave the pup .. kinda like it (tb-6) with the basswood ..
so i thought of those pickup stickers ... but dunno .. a sticker , really ? :P

then im also thinking bout highlighting some of the binding with a white knob
and a white sticker ...
i think ill give a try at some black+green knob and a trussrod-cover ..
i can still remove them if i wond like it :P ..

(kinda wierd i cant find any pics of this guiar with some mods .. may i be the first ? :P )

Re: Just Introducing my new girls :)

Very nice, first Prestige and Ibanez to boot. If you don't know how great these are, you will very soon. A colored knob may be cool and if stock pup is not there already, maybe a colored Duncan or DiMarzio in matching color to knob, but keep pickup in safe keeping on side just in case nothing sounds better. Green and green always works well with black.

A white knob could bring out the binding and a white/green zebra humbucker could look nice in that context with a green truss rod cover.

Also a funky distressed Bare Knuckle (UK pickup maker) may look nice. Black is the most mutable background color and you could put in almost any knob and/or pickup and still look great. It is this way in both clothing and shoes and any splash of color looks like it fits.

Ibanez has picked up the British pickup maker in some of their higher end models.
