Just what 7 String?

Hey guys,
I'm in a technical Death metal band at the moment, been listening to far too much Meshuggah and the likes.
I predominantly use a Les Paul, for a massive angry sound, though have been thinking about getting a 7 string.
I've never really looked into the market, can anyone recommend me a guitar in the price range of about 400-700 pounds?

Re: Just what 7 String?

The Schecter Jeff Loomis Sig looks really good and I believe it's on the low end of 1000$. I'm not good with conversion rates, but that looks to be in your budget. They also make a lot of other 7 strings. Ibanez is also another pretty obvious choice.

Although very expensive, there's also the Rusty Cooley model (dean), I've heard lots of great things about it.

All of the above. Plus, you should check the Ibanez RGA-7 and RGA-8 (if you're really into Meshuggah stuff). They're both in your price range.

I have a Dean RC7G and an UV777BK and both are amazing 7 strings. Pricey but worth it IMHO.

Agile makes some good bang-for-the-buck guitars. Might be worth checking out as a first 7 string.

A Loomis or an Agile would be my suggestions.
