You did not address your comment. If you're going to go out on a limb (even the thinnest of ones) you're going to have to go further (explain) or retract.

Now, proceed to explain how Ibanez offers 110% and EB/MM offers less than 100%. Thanks... glen

As it's been stated over and over again on this forum and others, when it comes to signature models from Ibanez, the artist has 110% control over the design of the guitar (we've told dozens of folks to "email Vai", right?). There's your 110%.
As for what EB/MM offers its signature artists regarding design, Paul alread answered this for us....

With that, best case scenario is 99%.

You're welcome.

(Paul- for the record, I dig the double neck. :-) )

How many JEM's have the Buzz Feiten Tuning System again?

I think it's important to temper the "company line" (i.e. - the artist has complete control over his/her model) with the economic reality (Ibanez's non-usage of the Buzz Feiten mod, sustainer, etc.) - some thing aren't of use to the average consumer, and therefore are not worth putting into production.

That's a pretty big stretch to think that Ibanez would let Steve pick a headstock design other than one of Ibanez' copywrited ones. But since you seem to know this as fact...

Well, aside from being schooled by scarred2112 and Rich.....

Other things Vai cannot do, even with his Kevan's "110% control" Alternate Logic(TM):
  • make Ibanez to release a JEM/UV without the "ibanez logo" on the headstock
  • set final LIST pricing
  • determine which products are cancelled due to poor sales
  • yadda, yadda, yadda
Maybe oneday you will actually think instead of just rotely preaching Ibanez-worship. This ZEALOTRY is both foolish and unnecessary. Congrats to JP for getting a sweetheart deal with a company that accomidates him to his LIKING BETTER than Ibanez did. PERIOD. ...glen

Scarred- You make a good point about the Buzz and the Sustainer. Just because SSV has put them on his own personal guitars and 6 people here have cried out for them to be put into production models, doesn't mean they'll show up on the ones you'll see in stores.
If (and that's a HUGE "if") they ever did, plan on seeing a price increase. It's pretty simple- more new stuff, more price. Same thing would happen with EB/MM-JPMs if they add new toys to the guitar.

Rich- you know damn well that facts are not allowed here. I tried it once; got me banned.

Glen- only *you* have 110% control over "yadda yadda yadda".
All you've got is pricing and sales figures? As Emmitt Smith so eloquently said, "Pleeease!" If SSV (or JP for that matter) had control over sales figures, the world would be a better place, wouldn't it?

Maybe you could post how SSV and JP don't have control over a cure for AIDS as well?

Talk about jacked logic.....you win.

Wrong. Again, you posted INAPPROPRIATELY AGAINST FORUM RULES.

Move on & open up your mind to the facts. Thanks... glen
