LACSD with Holoflash finish is...

unreal. Kirk, thanks for the info on this one (it took me a while to figure out it was you in the e-mail) - that history makes it all the more interesting to me! The finish is so unique. Even the way it was done, looks like they completely Holoflashed it, then coated it in gloss black and while it was wet, wiped & scratched it off in various places on all sides. The colors are amazing - it lights up! Also, the clear is absolutely glass.

I'll tell you that the guitar itself also plays very well. I gave it the 'Ol Harris clean-a-roony and she set up quite sweetly with 9's. It's got a simple look to it - love the clean look of the board with the CSD logo at the 12th. Will attempt to get to know the (stock) EMG in it... I'm not a big fan.

So it is a scratch through technique! That's what it looked like in the pics.

I actually took a Quicktime movie of it so you can see it change as it moves

The quicktime movie would definitely give you a better idea of how the finish *works*. That would be great to see.

In the meantime, here are pics of his guitar:

This different angle shows how much the colors change.

Wow, those RG's sure are getting more and more Soloist-like finishes , of course no offense intended
This finish is absolutely brilliant!
I think I'll get the CSD2 that's sold around here

Holy poo!

Wonderful! I love that fingerboard especially! Rosewood, yes! Is that an EMG 81 in there?

Yeah it's an 81. I have a feeling it's gonna be a TZ soon.

Seleced rosewood - LOL!

I think it's selected rosewood.

Dont you mean soloist are getting more and more like kramer finishes? Correct me if Im wrong but kramer was the first one to use that finish.
