Left hand RG560 swirl.

I have managed to become the owner of a left handed RG560. This guitar was given to me in bits. The body had been refinished ,sanded down, refinished again, it looked terrible. After about 3 months of looking at the guitar I decided to make a start on it today. I have sanded it down to wood, this took me a long time to get all the surfaces flat again as both sides resembled a roller coaster track , the thing had been sanded and painted that many times.
I have re sealed the body and head stock and have gotten the both in primer.
My plan is to swirl the body in PAW colours and fit a pyramid board (I have one lying around the house some where), I was thinking of swirling the head then sticking an Ibanez logo on, painting the head black and then removing the ibanez logo (Swirled LOGO)
should be good when its done, I will post some pictures of my progress.

Re: Left hand RG560 swirl.

Wow.....that body shape has changed quite a bit, ehh??

Love the swirl man......it seems a shame to cover up the head with black paint (although I love the idea). What about doing a black tinted clear so the swirl shows through a little?? Either way, the head swirled better than the rest of it. I'd hate to see that covered up. Just my .02cents

I dig this project though......can't wait to see more updates!!!

I do agree with you and have had second thoughts about the headstock, I think I will just put a green logo on it and leave it as it is.

Re: Left hand RG560 swirl.

just purchased a green Dimarzio air norton for the bridge and some green covers for the two 'S1' single coils, not sure if its gonna have green or yellow vol and tone.

Jimi style would be pretty cool..... and although I play right handed guitar I am a left hander myself.

Re: Left hand RG560 swirl.

Today I finished my shift at work and went straight to work putting some clear on the guitar, I put a green decal on but did not like the look of it in the end I went for a white logo.

I really like this one. Love the way the lines go up and down the body.

Re: Left hand RG560 swirl.

Today I received my left handed trem arm off Max and also the jumbo fret wire for my rosewood pyramid finger board that I will be fitting, just waiting on my green vol tone nobs and green single coil covers and the green dimarzio pick up. Even though I won't be able to play this guitar, I'm really looking forward to completing it.

Re: Left hand RG560 swirl.

Done a bit more today. I removed the old fingerboard and fitted this pyramid board. it is a board for a right handed guitar, just means the pyramids will be right handed and not left.
I also found some 'Glow in the dark' side markers that Im going to fit.
