The Standard isnt going anywhere, but Gibson may be up to something with it.

Re: Let's discuss Les Pauls

From what I read the Standards are getting some upgrades like locking tuners. Stores are blowing out the old ones the way they did 2007 American series Fenders earlier this year.

I can see an upgrade to the model, but not removing it from the line up completely.

Edwards?

Sweet!

It is funny how I read back on this thread and Gibson "replaces" the old Standard with..."the new Standard".

Re: Let's discuss Les Pauls

So, I have a question for everyone who owns a Les Paul. Is there any light Les Paul? Cause so far all of the ones I've played are as heavy as a ton of bricks.

Re: Let's discuss Les Pauls

My faded Standard is fairly light. I've never weighed it but it feels pretty close to my deluxe strat.

Re: Let's discuss Les Pauls

All the Standards are chambered since last year because too many people cried about the extra few pounds. If they are still too heavy I suggest quitting guitar and taking up purse collecting.

Re: Let's discuss Les Pauls

Or I could just not own a Les Paul, I do love my V and my other guitars so I guess right now it's not necessary to have one

Re: Let's discuss Les Pauls

Here are my current 3. 2008 G0 - It's a great guitar that I got at a great price brand new. 197? Les Paul Deluxe refinished in Wine Red with full sized hums and lastly, a 2007 Standard Faded, which is my current player:
