Let's get this baby swirled!

See this 2550?

F**k it! I'm getting it swirled! No turning back this time! Soon as I get some info from the person I'm going to have do the work, then I'll ask for some color combo opinions that may come out well. It's about time I had something swirled and I can't drop an insane amount for that Universe reissue. Besides, this Galaxy Black is boring as hell so swirling will be welcome. Then get a clear pickguard and and some funky neon knobs. It'll be awesome! No one can change my mind this time like that red Destroyer I wanted to paint! NO ONE! <points finger menacingly at no one in particular>.

Not sure yet. Actually, is it true Herc Fede is back in business? Because, hell, he's got enough examples out there that I can see his work is top notch and I don't even have to send the guitar out of the country. Always a bonus.

Go for it Jack. I've a Caparison here and I'm bored with the colour on it so thinking about getting it done. Are you thinking of getting just the body done or body + headstock? It's nice to keep your headstock logo though. Not sure if this can be done if it were to be swirled. Best of luck with it anyway!!

Re: Let's get this baby swirled!

Completely off topic question!

I see you have a 2550! It looks like a 2005...

Do you find that it lacks in the volume department, compared to other similar guitars? Mine just doesn't seem to be nearly as loud as my 520 or my jem, acoustically. I'm trying to decide if its a side effect of installing a sustainiac in it, or just the nature of the guitar.

Back on topic, I'd love to swirl mine as well. What colors are you thinking?

Re: Let's get this baby swirled!

Just the body, I think. I kinda like the Ibanez Prestige logo anyways. I found Herc's website so maybe I'll do something with the inlays as well since it's a service he offers. Maybe whatever the major color in the swirl is, I can get dots, switch cover, knobs and pickup covers to match...and I think that color will be ORANGE! Hmm...orange & black with a little white mixed in...hmm.

No, seems fine in the volume dept. but it's sure gonna get new pickups after the swirling. Gonna have to check the DiMarzio website to see if they have orange pickup covers. maybe orange/black and just reverse them each pickup but all orange would look, and excuse the 80's ref, RAD!

Re: Let's get this baby swirled!

ok, I've decided. I saw a lovely swirl called the Diablo with black, white and red. I may decide to change the inlays to something red/white...pyramids, maybe? Easy enought o get red knobs and will have to decide pickup colors. Going to get a Tone Zone for the bridge and will have to decide on the neck and middle. I could always go for the old standby, the PAF Pro or try something new. So many decisions! Least the colors are chosen.

Re: Let's get this baby swirled!

If you do the pyramids do red/pearloid. Much cooler than boring old white!

I'm liking this one but have it fade to red instead of green.
