Lock Block screw size.

I am replacing a Cosmo edge with a chrome edge. The lock block (bar) screw sizes are different. Does anyone know the exact size of these? I really need the size of the smaller screw. Both blocks are identical except for the block inserts to hold the bar across the springs. I never knew this was different, I thought the specs were always the same on every Lo-pro and original edge.

Thx

Re: Lock Block screw size.

The screws should be the same on both, if not one was modified so originals won't do you any good.

Thanks Rich!

Did they ever make make an edge without screw inserts for a lock block bar? Now that I look at there are no screws for a lock block. There are five holes on the block all the same diameter. The block says Ibanez Edge with japan written underneath and HS written on the other side(exactly written like my other edge's). The block looks exactly like my other original edge's only no inserts for screws. Are there any other ibanez trem's this block could be from? I'm sort of mystified here. I guess another question is also, are these bars really necessary?

Thanks.

They may be missing on very early bridges that would be on Roadstar's, before they realized the value in the spring lock. I don't handle guitars that early though so I'm not sure.

Is it worth changing the block to have the the springs secured? Do you notice any difference? I haven't strung up the guitar without the block bar yet to know for myself.

Re: Lock Block screw size.

Well I honestly dont notice too much of a difference. The RG obviously has a bigger cavity because its not as thin as the S, so its possible that its not as needed. But neither guitar has any issues, both trems are pretty equal.
